ABOUT
The Gathering of the Clans Highland Festival is a public event hosted in Sedgewick, Alberta.
​
It's a day full of highland activities, such as Heavy Events, highland dancing, festival entertainers, a petting zoo, artisan and food vendors, and more. The day concludes with a Cèilidh (dance) (pronounced kay-ley) performed by the River Jack's.
​
Last year, we had almost 1000 people in attendance, along with 4 pipe bands, 10 craft breweries and distillers, 13 Food Vendors, plus a vendor village with over 30 booths.
​
This year, we look forward to even more pipe bands with the addition of a friendly competition judged on creativity and crowd participation.​​

If you or your group would like to volunteer, sign up here! We have various types of tasks and shifts available. For non profit groups we are offering this as a fundraising opportunity. For individuals you can earn free gate admission!

Festival Gates Open with Artisan Vendor Village, Old Time Demonstrators, Kids Zone, Clan Tents and Craft Liquor tasting.
11AM
Welcome Performance of Battle River Pipes and Drums with Visiting Pipe and Drum Bands
12-4PM
2 Stages of Thrilling Entertainment, Music and Dancers
Heavy Events with Local and Professional Competitors
Scottish Beasties, Big and Small, and Herding Show
3:30PM

Closing Mass Band and Awards for Pipe Band Contest
Happy Hour with Celtic Harp Chick and Bodhrán Drum
Ceilidh - Dance with The Riverjacks
BATTLE RIVER PIPES AND DRUMS 50/50
