5th Annual
August 19, 2023

The Gathering of the Clans Highland Festival is a public event hosted in Sedgewick, Alberta.

It's a day full of highland activities, such as Heavy Events, highland dancing, festival entertainers, a petting zoo, artisan and food vendors, and more. The day concludes with a Cèilidh (dance) (pronounced kay-ley) performed by the River Jack's.

Last year, we had almost 1000 people in attendance, along with 4 pipe bands, 10 craft breweries and distillers, 13 Food Vendors, plus a vendor village with over 30 booths.

This year, we look forward to even more pipe bands with the addition of a friendly competition judged on creativity and crowd participation.

Battle River Pipes and Drums and Flagstaff Scottish Club would like to send out thanks to every person who came out to our 5th Gathering of the Clans Highland Festival. Utmost thanks go out to our sponsors, far too many to list here, but please take a moment to view the entire list below.

Thank you to everyone who wore a purple volunteer T-shirt and kept all the machinery of our event running smoothly. Thanks to our amazing entertainers and musicians, vendors, old time demonstrators, beasties small and tall, heavy events participants and pros, pipe bands and of course, Clans Hay, Buchanan and Wallace! Thank you to The Community Press for programs, articles and advertising. Thank you to Celina Fornell, photographer and Tom Lichak, sound technician. Special thanks to Cory Gagnon for all you do at the Rec. Centre. If we’ve missed anyone, Thank You!

It is because of our amazing community of people that our events become so successful. Everyone's enthusiasm makes for a memorable part of GOTCHF. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
