ABOUT

The Gathering of the Clans Highland Festival is a public event hosted in Sedgewick, Alberta.

It's a day full of highland activities, such as heavy events, highland dancing, festival entertainers, a kids zone, artisan and food vendors, and more. The day concludes with a Cèilidh (dance) (pronounced kay-ley) performed by a live band!

At our 2024 Gathering we had the ECMA Award winning Derina Harvey band performing at our Ceilidh. See the lineup of entertainers, demonstrators and vendors from our 6th GOTCHF below.

Tickets

Do I need to bring my ticket with me?

Yes! Please bring a copy of your ticket(s) with you to ensure check in goes as smoothly as possible

Will I be able to buy my tickets in person on the day of the event?

You will definitely be able to buy gate admission & ceilidh tickets on the day of the event! You can save on Ceilidh tickets if you buy in advance
We recommend buying tickets in advance to save on ticket cost and to make sure that you receive our email updates with the finalized schedule of entertainment, a map of the venue, and other information relevant to the day.

Are discounted tickets available?

The only discounted tickets we offer is for volunteers. To signup to be a volunteer see our Volunteer Sign Up Sheet!

Amenities

I have dietary restrictions. What will there be for me to eat?

Depending on what your dietary restrictions are, we are sure there will be food for you to eat! If you have any questions, feel free to email us and we would be happy to help! info@flagstaffscottishclub.com

Will there be free parking?

Yes absolutely. All parking will be free!

I'm from out of town. Is there anywhere that I can stay overnight?

Definitely! There are a variety of hotels, motels, and campsites in the area. Here are some:
- Town of Sedgewick: Sedgewick Lake Park
- Town of Killam: Wagon Wheel Motel, Centennial Park Campground, Lagoona Beach RV Park, Killam Krossing (780-385-6611)
- Village of Lougheed: Trout Pond Campground
- Town of Hardisty: List of Camping Options, Super 8, Solitaire Lodge, Hardisty Motel
Some of these venues may be booked for the weekend already so be sure to call in advance.
We will also have free overnight RV parking available after 5PM
- Ag Society is hosting pancake breakfast Sunday morning by donation from 8AM to 10:30 AM

Event

Do I need to bring cash with me?

We highly recommend you bring cash. While many vendors accept cards, it is best to be safe! At the very least, you will likely need cash for things like the Beer Gardens and/or Gate Admission (if you didn't pre-purchase your ticket). There is an ATM on site as well as a Vision Credit Union on Main Street if you need to withdraw cash during the day.

I'd like to plan my day. Is there a detailed schedule of events?

We are fine tuning all of the wonderful events for the day as we speak! Follow our Facebook Event and keep checking the website for updates!

I'm not Scottish. Is this an event I would still enjoy?

Absolutely! It is a fun-filled day with entertainment that happens to have a focus on Scottish themes! Stay tuned for a finalized schedule of events, or look at our gallery of past events.
